20110519 (lft-rt) Joyce Ann and her sister, Rebecca Barber Floyd inherited the Barber farm from their father, Richard Wainwright Barber.
The Barber Farm in Rowan County, NC is a 243 acre farm that has been in Barber family since it was settled in 1794. The Barber home, built in 1850, is on the National Register of Historic Places.
The LandTrust for Central North Carolina has assisted in the permanent preservation of the Barber Farm through the dedication of sisters Rebecca Barber Floyd and Joyce Ann Barber who have worked with the LandTrust to preserve the property that has been in their family since 1794.
Rebecca Barber Floyd and her husband, Charles Floyd, live on the farm. Joyce Ann lives nearby.
Land trusts have become more popular and now form one of the fastest growing and most successful conservation movements in American history.
The goal of conservation trusts is to preserve sensitive natural areas, farmland, ranch land, water sources, cultural resources or notable landmarks forever. © Laura Mueller - www.lauramuellerphotography.com
